Support the arts on Pender Island
Ptarmigan Arts hosts and supports dozens of events annually to promote arts education, appreciation, and development in the Southern Gulf Islands.
Our programs welcome islanders of all ages and backgrounds. Through our programs and events we connect with roughly 3,500 community members each year!
We hold our mandate close: Cultivating a Creative Community
We believe the arts are essential to a vibrant and happy community – which we're sure you do too!
All donations made to Ptarmigan Arts are tax deductible
“Ptarmigan has enriched our island. We are so fortunate to have this organization and its leadership.”
WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS
Your investment will make it possible for us to thoughtfully develop our programs into the future without depending solely on receiving grant funding. Your contributions help us continue to bring some beloved programs to Pender Island, including:
The Mosaic Festival – a three-day community celebration of music and the arts made possible by over 50 volunteers, local businesses, and sponsors.
The Pender Island Short Film Festival, Fall Crawl Studio Tour and Art Guide – shining a light on local talent and strengthening cultural connections.
Camp Create, Artists in the School and Band Camp – educating and inspiring the next generation of musicians and artists.
Community Concerts, International Women’s Day Showcase, Community Gathering Music and Tapestry of Words Literary Festival
Sponsorships of local groups and events such as Potters Meetup, Speakeasy and PI Jazz.

Why We Need Your Help Now
Like many arts organizations, Ptarmigan has traditionally relied on government and foundation grants. While those have sustained us for decades, grant shortfalls this year have created significant funding challenges. We’re facing difficult choices, including reduced staff hours and the possibility of scaling back programs in 2026.
That’s why we’re launching a community fundraising campaign to raise $60,000. This will allow us to maintain our current level of programming, help stabilize our future and ensure that the arts remain accessible for all. Please visit our FundRazr page to help keep the arts and music alive on Pender Island!
If you’ve decided to donate to Ptarmigan Arts today, we can’t thank you enough.
We source grants and subsidies to keep our programming as affordable as possible – but for some individuals and families, the cost can still be a struggle.
